CHANGE YOUR MINDSET – CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
Hip Hip Hooray I’m on my way…to another fabulous day!!
O.K. BB buddies, before you think I’m on some kind of magic mushroom trip – Nopes! The secret lies within – it always has. In recent years, I’ve come to realize just how powerful our minds are – for good and for bad. The way we think of ourselves and others, frequently leaves plenty of room for improvement. Would you agree?
Normally, at this time of the year, I would tell myself I hate January, I had eaten and spent with wild abandon over Christmas, and taking down the decorations wasn’t half as much fun!! The weather is always freezing cold and bleak and I miss my kiddos!! Enough reasons to say January and me are most incompatible!!
This year, I decided to change the narrative, thanks to the sage advice from friendly Buddhist monks and of course daily prayer, which in itself is a form of meditation. I set myself 3 daily affirmations, which you will see from my earlier blog, Happy New Year 2026 – Take Charge Like a Raging Bull!! Maybe I’m my own best customer, but I sure am finding those daily affirmations very helpful indeed.
January 2026, so far, has been my happiest to-date. To help me get through it with relative ease – let me re-phrase – To help me THRIVE and FLOURISH and actually ENJOY January – here’s what I did:
3 DAILY AFFIRMATIONS
I CHOSE HAPPY YELLOW and ORANGE AS MY COLOURS FOR THE MONTH
DAILY JOLT OF LIGHT FROM MY OMNILUX FACIAL MASK

PICK A WORD FOR 2026 – MINE WAS THE WORD ‘FLOURISH’

PLAN A TRIP, SO YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO

RISE AND SHINE!!
Hello BB Buddies,
Can you believe we are already halfway through the month of January and that’s even before the Chinese Year of the Fire Horse gallops in on February 16th. In addition, we have Saturn and Neptune moving into feisty Aries, no small move either. Lots of energy in the celestial mix!! Erratic Uranus is moving into equally erratic Gemini, a sign not noted for its predictability!! It will be interesting to see how that pans out in 2026…
If you’re a hard worker and very ambitious for your life, 2026 may well be the year to go for it!! Foot to the pedal. Visualize yourself as that graceful horse galloping in the direction of your dreams. 2026 is a high energy year. I can actually feel that already. Can you? There’s an urgency about 2026, or is that just me feeling it? Moving from 2025, the year of the languorous snake, to 2026 the year of the feisty fire horse, will not go unnoticed.
I was listening to a radio show this past week in which the host asked his guest
‘What has been the best decade of your life so far?’ A loaded question, you will agree.
I asked myself the same question and came to the conclusion that there was no such thing as a perfect decade. Each one came and went with plenty of sweet and sour. When you are younger, you are striving to get ahead, maybe wanting to ‘settle down’, have a family, etc. You are working hard, hoping for a bright future. Sacrifices to be made, compromises, etc. Some dreams come true, while others not so. You learn to live with disappointment, and are rewarded with grit, resilience, and even more determination – if you are wise.
Each decade brings its own charms and challenges to be sure. Life will always be a classroom experience, and you the student. There is no perfect decade. Just perfect moments that become even more perfect, and more plentiful, when you choose to live your life with positivity and a grateful generous heart.

HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL
A thought crossed my mind today as I walked past a discarded Christmas tree, lying desolate on the sidewalk. Only two weeks ago, it was dressed to kill, sparkling, and full of festive fun. What was once the centre of attention, was now a sad sight. A sobering reminder to treasure the moment.
No sooner did I pass the tree, when I spotted a joyful cluster of yellow Spring crocus peeking up from the dry winter soil. The pop of colour brought a smile to my face and filled my heart with hope. HOPE is one of my favourite words. It’s the juice that keeps my engine pumped. We have all entered this new year with our hearts full of hope, or at least I would like to think we have.
No doubt, the year ahead is a mystery to us all, but if we approach 2026 with hope and positivity, it will help us get through any rough patches. Sunshine follows rain, the glass is half full. YOU decide the narrative. I absolutely love this quote I read in my prayer book today. I will share it with you, to invest in your Hope Bank. Withdraw it any time you need it!!
‘Hope is like a golden cord connecting you to Heaven. The more you cling to this cord, the more I bear the weight of your burdens; thus you are lightened. Cling to hope, and my rays of Light will reach you through the darkness’. Amen.
ACTION FOR JANUARY !!
Lemons are renowned for cheering us, so invest in some.
Wear something yellow, Spring crocus yellow.
Fill a vase with faux lemons to keep you smiling!
Use lemon scented hand wash and cream.
Use lemon oil in your diffuser.
Elevate your HAPPY and keep the sunshine of HOPE chugging along in your hearts.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2026 – TAKE CHARGE LIKE A RAGING BULL!!
Hello BB Buddies!!
It’s me again, back after a hiatus. And what wisdom I have accrued in the years between Covid and all that Craziness!! If we can’t learn wisdom from life, what the frick are we doing? Life is supposed to teach us lessons, and the people we encounter are supposed to be our Teachers – in one way or another. The good, the bad, and the ugly. They all have some AHA moments to fling at us. Some we may like, others we’d rather return.
I have been listening with attention to all these charming Buddist Monks somewhere far away. They are sharing all sorts of wisdom, some of which I have added to my growing. pile. Man, that wisdom pile is almost bigger than the clutter zone in my basement now.
O.K. so here are some of my favourite wisdom-take-homes, that I have written into my 2026 Journal. You may wish to add them to yours!!
If you must OVERTHINK – Just overthink POSITIVE THOUGHTS!!
Start each day by saying 3 Simple things to yourself – OUT LOUD!!
THIS IS GOING TO BE AN ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC DAY (God Willing)
I CAN CONTROL MY MIND – AND NOT LET MY MIND CONTROL ME!!
I AM GRATEFUL FOR EVERYTHING I HAVE RIGHT NOW.

GRATITUDE IS AN ATTITUDE. Actually, I find it works!! Every day I never stop thanking God – for everything!! Food, Family, Friends, Fun, EVERYTHING!! That delicious Coffee first thing in the morning, etc. Anything that gives you JOY. Nature, that little hummingbird that you just saw, the cute dog that wagged his tail at you, the kind person who let you out on the road when you were driving, the girl who complimented your outfit. All those little daily things ADD UP to a smile on your face, and in your heart.
So, tomorrow my friends, start appreciating all those Teeny Tiny Miracles… They are called ‘Glimmers’. When you find a glimmer, you’ll know EXACTLY what I mean!!

LOVE IT IS A FUNNY THING!
Hi Guys,
Love is all around us – or at least people looking for love! I have just finished watching one such show ‘Love Without Borders’ which followed the lives of couples who were matched up by a Psychologist and Relationship expert. Sadly, none of them worked out. One girl even went so far as to say ‘We were not astrologically compatible!’ She was right about that, I would not have put a Gemini man with a Pisces woman either. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule, particularly if there were many other compatible elements in their individual charts.
So how do you find ‘the one’? Where do you even begin? Let’s say you have just started to navigate one of the many on-line dating sites, I would suggest that you narrow your search engine to your Top Five most compatible signs. If an individual will not divulge their birthdate, well then to that I would say ‘Move On!’ Because if a person has a closed mind and is not willing to look at all aspects of compatibility, he or she is not worth pursuing. Besides – they are no fun either!!
How to find your Top Five:
Choose somebody who shares your particular element, for example let’s say you’re a Virgo, your fellow earth signs would be Capricorn and Taurus. These individuals would share your earthy sense of humour, and like you, are reliable, practical, hard working, and ambitious. A good fit. You can also look to the complementary element of water. The water signs are Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. This is how you would find your Top Five.
In Astrology, there are four elements: Earth, Air, Water, and Fire. As a rule of thumb, earth and water signs get on really well, or so I have found over the years. Just like earth needs water to survive, so too does water need earth to contain it.
Equally, fire and air signs get on really well. Just like fire needs air to fan it, so too does air need fire. This is an intellectually good combination.
Fire Signs: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
Air Signs: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
Water Signs: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
Earth Signs: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
Of course there are a myriad of other aspects at play in relationship astrology, not just your Sun sign! Which can throw things off a bit!! One has to look at the moon and rising sign of each individual, the position of Mars and Venus, etc. LOTS of other stuff going on to stoke the fire of love!!
As well as looking at the Top Five contenders for your heart, you need to know yourself and what you need, to find love and contentment in life. Begin by knowing your Sun, Moon, and Rising signs – the Holy Trinity, as I call them – the backbone of your astrology chart.
Your sun sign is the ‘real you’ and is determined by your day of birth. The moon sign is your emotional response to life, and is also determined by your day of birth. The rising, or ascendant sign is the sign rising at the time of your birth. This is your physical appearance, and how you wish people to see or perceive you – the voice you put on the phone, or ‘the door of your house’ – metaphorically speaking.
Over the years I have noticed in couples who have sadly parted ways, they will mention ‘This is not the person I thought I was marrying’. Of course, they only saw the rising sign, which is not the ‘real you’. Your sun sign is the real you.
You deserve happiness! This is a good way to start your search by knowing YOU and knowing the ‘Significant Other’. I can think of no better way than astrology to guide you in your search for love. Good Luck!!
