Like many people, I have been deeply saddened by the tragic shooting in Las Vegas on October 1st which claimed the lives of 59 innocent people. Hundreds of injured are still battling for life in hospitals, families are mourning the loss of loved ones, children are crying for mothers and fathers they will never see again. It is just so dang SAD. Heartbreaking…

I write about Joie de Vivre and how to enjoy your life. Las Vegas was one of my favourite cities for just having a good time. And now…

How do people pick themselves up after such a tragic loss? How does one come to terms with the fact that EVIL really does exist? Demonic possession is clearly common these days. These were all questions posed in church recently and made me think. This past year has been difficult for a great many people, and I know from the tragedies in London, Barcelona, and now Las Vegas, that Chrismas 2017 is going to be a sad one for many. But thank God, people are resilient — more than they may even realize.

I have a few suggestions to help activate your resilience and increase your Joie de Vivre.

LOVE LOVE LOVE… Shower the people you love with love and pray for the families of deceased loved ones that God will give them strength, resilience, and courage to move on with their lives.

Perform random acts of kindness to strangers so they will see that despite the evil, good does exist. Love is stronger than hate. Heroes are all around. Be one!

Love your life. Do fun things, listen to music that uplifts you, watch movies that inspire you, read books that transport you, wear clothes that make you feel happy. Colour your world with beauty. Value your friendships. Keep living your life with gusto, passion, and most especially HOPE.

Forgive. Bitterness contaminates the vessel which contains it.

Help the downtrodden. Giving to those less fortunate, whether it’s your time or financial aid, is always a good idea.

Pray. Prayer is always a great source of comfort. I surrender myself to God and ask him to Take Care of Everything!’ It’s nice to be able to dump your worries and concerns on God’s soothing lap. It truly does help, and God is very generous!

Go Spread the LOVE!

Hugs,
Patricia xxx
