Gung Hay Fat Choi!

I fricking love any excuse to dress up and monkey around!! (‘xcuse the pun!!) and tomorrow is the official start of the Chinese Year of the Monkey, ooh ooh aah… Tonight, while everybody was watching the silly Super Bowl, I had a playdate with Schweetheart and what fun we had. Got my outfit put together for tomorrow… Red, gold, new red shoes (aren’t they glam?). Here’s the drill to ensure you have a fabulous New Year of the Monkey:

  • Wear red (preferably new) with pops of gold
  • De-clutter your house
  • Don’t wear black or white (they signify death)
  • Have your hair cut before the new year
  • Wear new shoes (preferably red)
  • Do not lend anything on this day or you will be lending all year
  • Refrain from using foul language or bad or unlucky words
  • Don’t talk about the past year
  • Just be very positive and expect only the very best
  • Lots of Positive Affirmations
  • OMG — no knives or scissors this day!! (hairdressers and chefs, take the day off)

In addition, this year we have a new moon in Aquarius on Monday, meaning it’s a perfect day to set new intentions, give up bad habits, and take up better ones!!

Without further ado, I wish you all a Happy Chinese Year of the Monkey!

Hugs,
Patricia and Schweetheart my pet monkey xxx
